Grief and breastfeeding

For Current mothers: Until now your main focus has probably been caring for your little one. You may find you have mixed emotions about breastfeeding. The memories of feeding your baby may both comfort and upset you. Most mothers feel grief and a sense of loss after they have weaned their babies. At times you may miss breastfeeding your child almost as much as you miss your child.

For Women who babies have passed away, miscarriage or other neonatal early deaths. This is a period of intense emotions. Seeing a counselor or therapist is recommended as we cannot on any webpage be able to assist you in this intensive period. Please see helpful organizations for more assistance.
